Reimbursement of contributions
What are the conditions for reimbursement of contributions?
There are two possible situations:
- I'm not entitled to an old-age pension at 65.
- I receive an old-age pension and continue to work after the age of 65.
Important: No reimbursement of contributions to pension insurance under the general scheme is possible before the age of 65!
I am not entitled to a pension at 65
If you are not entitled to an old-age pension at the age of 65 because you have not completed the minimum 120 months of insurance, adding together your Luxembourg and foreign periods, you may be entitled to a reimbursement of contributions.
Download the "Demande de pension” form (in French) from Guichet.lu and tick "Demande de remboursement de cotisations après l’âge de 65 ans" (Request to reimburse contributions after the age of 65).
I receive an old-age pension and will continue to work after the age of 65
If you are in receipt of an old-age pension (from the age of 65) and you will continue to work subject to the payment of pension insurance contributions, you may submit an annual application for the reimbursement of the contributions deducted from your salary during the previous calendar year.
Download the "Remboursement de cotisations si occupation salariée après 65 ans" form (in French) from Guichet.lu.
Please note that we cannot process your claim before March or April of the current year, for the simple reason that the salary for December is taken into account by the Joint Social Security Centre (Centre commun de la sécurité sociale) in February of the current year at the earliest.
