Mission

All persons, with the exception of public sector employees, working in Luxembourg or receiving replacement income are covered by the general pension insurance scheme.

Since 1st January 2009, the National Pension Insurance Office (CNAP), the result of the merger of the four pension funds, has been the point of contact for all insured persons under the general pension scheme (private-sector employees and self-employed persons) for all matters relating to pension insurance.

The main task of the National Pension Insurance Office is granting pension benefits:

  • in the event of old age
  • in the event of invalidity
  • in the event of survival
