Organisation

The CNAP is a social security institution with the status of a public sector establishment acting as a legal person.

The CNAP is managed by a board of directors made up of elected representatives of employers, insured persons and self-employed persons. Representatives are appointed by the various professional chambers on the basis of the results obtained in the elections for these chambers. The state is represented on the board of directors by a president who is a civil servant. Actions taken by the president and the board of directors within the limits of their powers are binding on the social security institution.

CNAP staff have the same status as civil servants.

Social security institutions are subject to government supervision by the General Inspectorate of Social Security.
