Introduction of the conjunctural tax credit (CIC)
The law of 5 July 2023 amending, i.a. the amended law of 4 December 1967 concerning income tax provides for the introduction of a monthly conjunctural tax credit (CIC) for the year 2023.
This conjunctural tax credit is being introduced retroactively to 1 January 2023. It is also limited to the period during which the taxpayer receives a Luxembourg pension and is only payable if the pension is taxed in Luxembourg.
As the pensions for the months of January to July 2023 have already been paid, the National Pension Insurance Office (CNAP) will recalculate them. The corresponding amount will be paid on the same date as the pensions for the month of August, on 27 July 2023.
